It took me over a week to finish the three sides and the arc, while the piece was on the plaster mold. which means adding clay at depressions, going over the surface with a large size hex-saw, to get rid of all the humps and dumps, and get all the curves RIGHT!!
It was not long before the piece was turned onto a drying mold.
After the piece was turned I finished the side which was the base and the arc that got exposed.
Made several holes on all sides for the air to escape during the firing; not worrying if a few got closed by wads that support the piece in the kiln.
Then left it to dry as slowly as possible. trying for it to dry slowly and evenly...
