I relive the visit through these images.

these objects in the museum and remember their names.

Berlin 2nd - 12th August 2014 - Brandenburg Tor

 

I am a tropical girl. The weather kind of knew it.

 

It was a bright, sunny day, with spurts of cloud and drizzle

and I walked through the town, enjoying every bit of it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And what I thought was 5 minutes, was an hour in the

Room of Silence

for me.

According to the sponsors the Room of Silence has a dual Purpose: Firstly it provides an opportunity for everyone, independent of background, colour, ideology, religion and physical condition to enter and remain in silence for a while to simply relax, to gain strength for the daily life, or to remember inside this historic place the dark but also hopeful events, to meditate, to pray. As everyone is invited to remain in silence and peace for a while, the room itself acquires a symbolic meaning, the other purpose the sponsors had in mind. This room is a symbol, a continuous invitation to tolerance, the brotherhood of man embracing all nationalities and ideologies, a continuous reminder against violence and xenophobia - a contribution, a small step towards peace and spiritual unity, according to the prayer of the United Nations: "Oh Lord, our planet Earth is only a small star in space. It is our duty, to transform it into a planet whose creatures are no longer tormented by war, hunger and fear, no longer senselessly divided by race, colour and ideology. Give us courage and strength to begin this task today so that our children and children's children shall one day carry the name of man with pride."

A dear friend hosted me in Berlin. My best time of life ever.

 

Among the most desirable things that I did in those ten days,

one was spending time with my favourite artists work.

After hours of contemplation...

 I decided to focus on something else

 

and here is to Beautiful nature.

New series of work.

Inspired by the simple form of hexagon

and structures that are found in man made and natural forms.

 

 

 

Fired in 15 hours to cone 10 down.

Gas consumed 35kgs. 

Bisque Firing at Studio Earth Art, June 2014

My little kiln has been working beautifully.

 

Sharing with you the third bisque load.

 

I have hooked on to the luxury of my own studio and my own kiln.

I made works that I had planned to make. When I thought it was one load; I placed kiln shelves and loaded the kiln. The piece that you see on the top shelf was made according to the space that remained. It was not limiting at all, but the space seemed to guide me into making a sculpture, I would not have been able to ideate, otherwise.
